Movies!

So I saw Harry Potter with my friend Nic last night........IN FUCKIN' IMAX! The last twenty minutes were in 3-D which was pretty amazing. I think it was my favorite HP movie besides the third one.

But the weirdest thing of the night was this:
Can you tell what that is? Well, I'll tell you. It's a pigeon. A dead pigeon embedded in cement. Underneath Michigan Ave. in downtown Chicago. What the hell? How did it get there? Did it fly into the cement at the right moment when it was still wet? Or did it somehow get poured in with the cement itself? What do you think it's last thoughts were? I have to know.

Today I saw Hairspray.....which I hate to say this but I loved it. I was dreading seeing John Travolta in drag but....oh god....I hate saying this....I thought he was HILARIOUS. It was just great....go see it. Not as good as the original of course, but still wonderful.

Hey Mr. Owl, you've been framed.

I framed this at the gallery the other day. I really like how it turned out. It is a screen print of an owl from 1966. It was glued to a backboard and when I peeled it off, there was another screen print of an ad for a sidewalk sale or something behind it. It was so retro and sixties looking.

Today I'm going on an architecture boat tour of Chicago. You go all around the river and the lake and learn all about the history of the crazy buildings in Chicago. I'm excited. :) I'll post pictures later.

Ugh.. this was hard to get.

Wow. What a day. That was probably the most nerve wracking experience I've had in a very long time.

Hello, loves.

The other day I got a book on one of my favorite painters, Hieronymus Bosch. He was a painter who lived in the 1400's, and he painted crazy paintings of heaven and hell. It's funny because I'm really enjoying reading the book. When I was in college and actually minoring in Art History I was always supposed to be reading books like this, but since I was forced to read them I HATED them. Now that I picked this book out on my own and I can read it without the pressure of worrying about being tested on it, I'm actually really enjoying it.

I have next Monday through Thursday off from work. I was planning on going to Tennessee, but I have way too much stuff to take care of here (sorry Lew...). I'm pretty sad about not getting to go to Tennessee but it will be really nice to have a few days to get stuff taken care of. I think I may go down to the art institute, and Kat is supposed to be in town as well. OH, and I've got to work on making some art for the Glenwood Ave. Arts Festival! The Gallery has rented two booths, and I have NO idea what I'm going to sell......any ideas?

Do you really want to blog me?

So I'm really going to attempt to do this. By this, I mean keep a blog that's regularly updated. You can read it if you're interested.

Right now I've got nothing to really write about. I just had ice cream with my friend John in downtown Evanston. I had cappuccino chip, two scoops, and a side of crazy homeless people mumbling obscenities at us.

I'll write more later when something eventful happens, I just wanted to get this bitch started.

:)
